Last April, we moved into a new house. Before we moved, I ripped out all the carpet on the main floor of the new house and then installed hard maple flooring throughout. It only took me 5 days to do 6 rooms.
When I was done, I had 6 boxes of flooring left over – about 120 square feet. The boxes have been sitting in the garage all year. I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with all this beautiful tongue-&-groove maple.
Last week, Gail suggested that I make a new kitchen table out of it. So this last weekend, I started on it. Cherry base made in the Shaker style.
Here are a couple of pictures of the pieces of this table in process.
I’ll post a picture of the finished table when I get ‘er done.
UPDATE 18 January 2017: It’s done and ready for eating off of.Kitchen table made in 2017 from the surplus maple tongue-&-groove flooring under it and a cherry base and trim.
